Eligibility Requirements for RMP®

To apply for the PMI–RMP® exam, you must meet one of the following:

Option 1 — Secondary Degree (High School Diploma, Associate Degree, or Global Equivalent)

  • 36 months of project risk management experience
  • 40 hours of project risk management education

Option 2 — Four-Year Degree (Bachelor’s or Global Equivalent)

  • 24 months of project risk management experience
  • 30 hours of project risk management education

What is the PfMP® certification process?

The PfMP® certification process includes: Meeting PMI’s eligibility criteria, submitting your application, passing a panel review, and taking the PfMP® exam (170 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours).

Is the course hands-on?

Do I get any official certification?
